Archery was one of the earliest Olympic sports to be open to women. It was dropped from the Olympics in 1920 but reintroduced at Munich 1972.

There are four medals in the archery competition. Current olympic archery champions are

Men - Ruban (Ukraine)
Women - Zhang (China)
Team Men - Korea
Team Women - Korea
